Julie has extensive experience as a TV Drama Script Editor and Development Producer for TV and Radio for BBC Scotland and the Independent Sector. A champion of new talent throughout her career, Julie produced Daddys Gone A-Hunting for the BBC Tartan Shorts strand, directed by Morag Fullarton, and Double Nougat starring Pauline Quirke, Andy Gray and Steven Duffy, written and directed by Aileen Ritchie, winning the EIFF Golden Angel Award. Julie also developed and produced the innovative trilogy of one woman TV Dramas Lambrusco Nights.
As a writer, Julie has written for both theatre and radio. Julies debut play Victory Harvest, was premiered by Clyde Unity Theatre; Plaza inspired by the history of Glasgow`s legendary ballroom, directed by Annie Griffin, was premiered in a showcase performance at The Tron Theatre.
Her highly acclaimed stage play Maria of my Soul, directed by John Binnie, exploring care of the elderly, premiered at Oran Mor Play, Pie and a Pint before touring care homes and alzheimer units across Glasgow with the support of Glasgow Arts. Starring Anne Scott Jones, Gordon Brandie and Dave Anderson.

Julies 5 x 15 radio drama serial, Constance, inspired by the life of maverick Floral Designer Constance Spry, was broadcast as part of Radio 4s network Womans Hour Drama, starring Joanna David and directed by Marilyn Imrie. It was pick of the week for Maureen Lipman - blooming marvellous! A one woman theatre play, Mrs Sprys Arrangements premiered at the London Garden Festival starring Deborah Findlay, directed by Marilyn Imrie.
Kisses of Fire, Julies new one woman darkly comic play about female alcohol addiction was given a successful showcase reading for new writers at the Tron, by Wildfire Theatre Company, performed by Wendy Seagar.
For screen Julie is developing Kin, set in the world of Kinship Carers, No Man`s Land, inspired by the true story of WW1 Scottish Suffragette surgeon, Elsie Inglis. Julie was shortlisted for the Young Films Residency in 2019 with No Mans Land, and given special recommendation from Thousand Films Womens Screenwriting Competition, 2019. Julie is currently developing Silver Blades exploring the competitive world of community ice rinks, which she began writing on the NFTS Writing the TV Pilot course.
